We have lots of activities for you this week and we hope you will have fun doing one or more of them. We look forward to seeing pictures of the things you make.
Click here to download all of this week's activities as a PDF. Earlier in the week, materials and activities on the life of Daniel were delivered to those who normally attend Sunday Club. If you have not received the materials and would like them, please do get in touch. You can ring the church phone number (07551 988397), ask a Sunday Club leader, or send an email to [email protected].
Activity 1 – Daniel – Video
Watch the video which tells the story of Daniel and his friends, or read it in the Bible in Daniel Chapter 1.
Activity 2 – Captions
Print out the pictures from the worksheet and the page with captions on it. Cut out the captions and match them to the story. Stick the captions underneath each picture.
Activity 3 - Craft activity
If you have some lolly sticks, or drinking straws, you can make the characters in the story, like the ones in the video. Take a sheet of paper or thin card and draw a picture of Daniel. Not too big! It needs to be the right size to stick onto one of your lolly sticks, or onto a straw so that you have a character to act out the story, as in the video. Cut out the shape. Stick it to the top half of the lolly stick or straw – you will probably need to use Sellotape if you are using straws - so that you can hold the end to move your character around. You can either draw the face, hair and so on, or if you have some scrap materials, you can cut out and stick on the hair and the clothes. Be creative! When you have finished the Daniel character, make some more figures. If you want to, you could also make a background. Then you can act out the story.
Activity 4 – Song and message
Look at the song video – ‘God always keep his promises’. Sing along! Does it give you an idea for a message about God that you would like to share with others? Write a message with whatever you have handy. You could use Lego bricks, or beads, or pasta shapes, or sweets, as in the video. Take a picture of your message and put it on the Whatsapp Group for everyone to see. We would like to show some of these to the church in the service next week.
