Watch the video in the service, and then have a go at the quiz.
Activity 2 – Make a story bottle
Take an empty pop bottle
Cut out little fish shapes from tinfoil and put them in the bottle
Make a plasticine Jonah and put him in the bottle
Make a plasticine boat and put it in the bottle
Fill it just over half full with water
Add a few drops of blue food colouring (if you have any!)
Add 50 mls vegetable oil
Screw the lid on tightly
Ask an adult to screw it on even more tightly!!
Tell an adult in your household the story so far. Remember to shake the bottle to make the storm, and then stop when you get to the part when Jonah goes in the water.
Activity 3 – Prayer jar
Find your prayer jar from last week. Shake it up and down and thank God for as many things as you can think of. Stop and sit quietly somewhere. Watch the glitter settle. Think about things that are difficult in your life right now. Sometimes we call difficult times “storms”. God sent the storm to make Jonah stop doing the wrong thing and start doing the right thing. Ask God to help you do the right thing in your “storm.”
